Expanding our plans to meet the needs of global workforces
A common challenge for global companies is finding ways to offer affordable health benefits to workers who travel around the world. In particular, U.S. organizations with employees who live and work in other non-U.S. countries find themselves in a dilemma, with many plans requiring expensive U.S. health coverage, even if those workers rarely, if ever, set foot on U.S. soil. In an effort to make international health care work better for all, UnitedHealthcare Global expanded expatriate insurance plans to fit these needs, with coverage that ensures quality medical care around the world, specifically designed for those working outside of the U.S.
Expanding UnitedHealthcare Global’s insurance offerings with additional expatriate plans, we are strategically focusing on medical coverage for care outside of the U.S. with the flexibility of adding emergency only medical coverage in the U.S. These plans are designed to be cost-effective while delivering robust international benefits. Plans include inpatient and outpatient coverage, prescription services and important wellbeing services designed to care for the whole person.
- Flexible coverage: Choose to exclude U.S. medical coverage or include U.S. emergency only medical coverage. Coverage limits are available at annual or lifetime limits.
- Quality medical care, wherever they are: Robust inpatient and outpatient coverage ensures that proper health care is accessible combined with 24/7 assistance.
- Whole person solutions: Support through wellbeing programs like the Health Management Program, Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and My Wellbeing
- Easy plan management and access to information: User-friendly access to the member portal, UHC Global app, and the Care Card
- Digital tools and resources: Digital health and wellbeing tools available 24/7, including virtual visits
- Optional add-ons: Enhance your overall benefits offerings by adding on a vision plan, dental plan and financial protection, like Long Term Disability and AD&D.
- Dedicated client support: Employers can benefit from our dedicated implementation teams, ensuring a smooth transition to the plan.
By strategically focusing on providing organizations a unique plan with medical coverage for care outside of the U.S., this plan can help reduce costs while still providing broad international benefits and access to a quality network of providers.
